Help Dalia’s Family
United States
My name is Dalia, and I’m an 18-year-old from Jabalia in northern Gaza. I grew up in a beautiful land of citrus trees, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. I had a house, safety, and stability. But the war destroyed everything.
The neighborhood where we used to live is now rubble. Since October 7th, we have had to flee several times, first to the south, then back to the north, and are now living in a tent in a school shelter in the Al-Zeiton area. Each time we fled, we lost everything and had to start from scratch. Our last move in March came when I was 8 months pregnant. My husband Salem and I welcomed our beloved baby daughter, Narmin, into the family on April 20th, 2025.
Since the bombing resumed in March, Israel has blocked aid coming into the country and we are starving. Prices are extremely inflated, and we need your help to survive. My breast milk has dried up and I am desperate to feed my new baby, as well as the other children and loved ones in our family. I am supporting 12 family members, many of whom have ongoing medical costs, such as for Salem’s younger brother Ibrahim’s eye injury, our parents’ diabetes and heart disease conditions, and conditions related to malnutrition.
Your kindness and generosity will help us survive. No donation is too small. If you cannot donate, please share our story with your family, friends, and community. Thank you for standing with us during this unimaginable time.
Hello, friends. Thank you for contributing to Dalia’s campaign and helping her family survive. Fortunately, everyone in the immediate family is still alive. Salem’s head wound has healed.
However, conditions continue to worsen. Food remains scarce, and last week, Dalia’s family again received evacuation orders. They were terrified, as there was shelling all around them, but they made a long journey on foot. Now, they do not have a tent and the family has been separated. Dalia and baby Narmeen are living with Dalia’s aunt in the sea district, while Salem’s younger brothers and mother live with an uncle in another area. Meanwhile, Salem and his father are living on the street without a tent. Internet is not available where Dalia lives now, and she must walk 4 kilometers so that she can access it and communicate with us.
Dalia reports that a new tent will cost $1,000, and a bathroom attachment will cost $300. I hope we can raise this money as well as money toward food, so that the family can be reunited again in this difficult time.
Photo captions:
Narmeen suffers from heat rash. She has been crying a lot, and Dalia worries.
Evacuation orders, received Aug 6th.
I am sharing a video from Dalia and Salem. Dalia writes:
The situation is catastrophic. We do not have any kind of food.
Things would be difficult without your support. We live only through donations.
Please, my dear friends, stand with me this month. I am talking to you and hunger is ravaging my body. I am unable to walk because of the famine.
Children fall here.
Every time I plan an update, new news comes in the hour before I send. Sadly it has not been good. The news today is that Dalia’s region is under heavy bombing. They received an evacuation notice but have no way to evacuate with shelling all around and no transportation vehicle. Please hold Dalia and her family in your thoughts and send what financial support you can.
Here’s the update I was going to send before receiving this news:
I am glad to report that baby Narmeen recovered from sepsis! Thank you so much to everyone who donated in June. Our donations helped pay the hospital bills and get Narmeen the fluids she needed to recover, although she remains underweight from malnourishment.
However, our beloved Dalia now is suffering from a toothache and has been advised by dentists that she will need a root canal for her molar. Additionally, Uncle Abu Salem has a heart condition and high blood pressure and continues to need treatment, and Ibrahim needs continued treatment for his eye. And of course food continues to be challenging to access — milk is now $50 per carton, and aid trucks are a site of fear as Israeli soldiers are randomly shooting civilians who come for food.
Also, we lost communication for several days when a communications tower was bombed, but thankfully internet has now been restored in Dalia’s camp.
Here are some messages from Dalia (via google translator) that go with the photos:
“I would like to tell you that your support for Narmin was great. It provided her with good treatment.”
“I hope that you will not neglect Ibrahim, the child who needs more donations for his safety, and I hope that you will stay by my family’s side.”
“Dear friends, please stand with me now. Evacuation is very difficult. Shelling intensifies everywhere.”
